The Harrisburg Heat, from the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) have acquired midfielder, Marcel Berry, to a two year contract. Per league policy, no other details of the agreement are available.
Berry has played in both the USL (United Soccer League) and NPSL (National Premier Soccer League) following a successful collegiate career at William & Mary (Williamsburg, VA) where he earned the following:
4 time All-CAA Second Team (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018)
2 time VaSID All-State Second Team (2016, 2017)
2 time VaSID All-State First Team (2015, 2018)
CAA Rookie of the Year (2015)
CAA All-Rookie Team (2015)
Third Team Freshman All-American College Soccer News (2015)
W&M’s Best Rookie Award (2015)
General Manager and Head Coach of the Heat, Pat Healey, said in a statement, “Marcel is a player we have scouted for awhile. He is the type of player that will fit into the style and system we are trying to play and will fit in the arena game well.”
The Heat also just recently signed goalkeeper, Jesus “Chuy” Molina and midfielder Julian Escobar earlier this week.
The Harrisburg Heat begin their 2019/2020 season on Saturday, November 30th in Rochester against the Lancers. Their opening home game will be on December 7, with game time set to 7:05 P.M. also against the Rochester Lancers.
