The Harrisburg Heat have announced 2 re-signings this week, midfielder Julian Escobar and Jesus “Chuy” Molina, the veteran goalkeeper. The Heat is a part of the Major Arena Soccer League. Both Players have been signed to a one year contract.
Jesus “Chuy” Molina came in as a free agent after a stint with the San Diego Sockers last year. Molina has been in the league for 10 years now, in which he played for a handful of teams such as San Diego, El Paso Coyotes, Anaheim Bolts, California Cougars, and Las Vegas Legends.
Molina had this to say: “I want to thank Pat Healey and the front office for giving me this opportunity to come and play for the Harrisburg Heat. I can’t wait to get to work and start a new chapter in my career. Go Heat!”
Pat Healey commented: “We knew we had to make an upgrade in the goal from last season. We have done that by adding Chuy to the roster. Chuy is a veteran goalkeeper, who has played for many successful teams in this league. He gives us more composure in the back which will help us keep the ball better and ultimately attack better.”
As for Julian Escobar, he sticks with the team for another year. Escobar joined the Heat last year and played in all 24 games of the regular season. Escobar put up some noteworthy stats along the way too with 10 goals, 5 assists, while also blocking 11 shots.
In a statement Escobar noted, “Truly thankful and excited to sign with the Heat for another season. I’m here to learn, grow, stay focused and help win games. We have a talented group of guys and I’m looking forward to a successful season. Can’t wait to get started and put on a show in front of our fans.”
The Harrisburg Heat begin their 2019 season on Saturday, November 30 away at Rochester to take on the Lancers.
