Now we move on to game 2 of this Saturday in the NFL. The AFC Divisional round match-up features the leagues top team in the (14-2) Baltimore Ravens, going up against the underdog (9-7) Tennessee Titans. Baltimore stormed their way to the first round bye by being the top team in the entire league in the regular season. The Titans on the other hand got in by the skin of their teeth to the Wild Card round. From the very get go of this game, it was very apparent that this wasn’t going to be a cakewalk for the Ravens… Not by a long shot.

Things got off to a rocky start for the Ravens. Their opening drive was cut short by an interception, which was the early spark the Titans needed to get the ball rolling. As on the following drive Tennessee opened the score with a touchdown. Relative newcomer/saviour for the Titans Ryan Tannehill would find Jonnu Smith for a 12-yard touchdown making it 7-0 Titans after the 1st quarter. Then the Ravens would turn the ball over on downs, and it was downhill from there. As literally the very first play of the Tennessee drive saw Tannehill find Kalif Raymond for a 45 -yard touchdown! Now up 14-0 the Titans seemed to be sitting quite comfortably in the early going. Not so fast though, as Justin Tucker would hit 49 and 22 yard field goals respectively making this a 1-score game going into halftime.
Perhaps no better time than now for the Ravens to turn things around… Not turn the ball over. Yet that’s exactly how they started the 2nd half, the very same result as their opening drive of the contest. on 4th and 1 once again Lamar Jackson couldn’t convert resulting in yet another turnover on downs. Also just like the last Ravens turnover on downs the Titans would make them pay. In a rather unusual play we would see running-back Derrick Henry find Corey Davis in the end-zone for a 3-yard touchdown pass. With the lead now 21-6, the Ravens needed to find some traction. A fumble is certainly the complete opposite, yet that’s exactly what happened. Probably to nobody’s surprise the Titans would score yet another touchdown off a Ravens turnover. Tannehill would do it with his legs this time as he took the ball 1-yard in for the score and 28-6 Tennessee lead. Now there was just one quarter to go. Following the touchdown the Ravens turned the ball over again on an interception. Good news for them is the Titans didn’t score off this one which allowed Baltimore to score their first touchdown. Jackson would find Hayden Hurst in the end-zone for the 15-yard touchdown, but a failure on the 2-point convert meant it was a 28-12 score now. That was all the Ravens could muster as they’d turn the ball over on downs two more times before the game mercifully ended 28-12 Titans final score.

The league favourite for MVP had a whopping 7 turnovers in the game for the Ravens. Ultimately the sheer amount of mistakes means the Tennessee Titans are going to the AFC Conference final for the 1st time since 2002. There they will play the winner of tomorrows game between the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Houston Texans. Either way we’ll be in for a great game as the Titans are continuing to write their Cinderella story in the 2019-2020 playoffs.
