Week 11 is upon us, and kicking it off is a divisional match-up. This Thursday Night Football duel features the (5-4) Pittsburgh Steelers taking on the (3-6) Cleveland Browns. Contrary to what many would have predicted, the Steelers are still in the thick of the wild card despite being down their number 1 quarterback in Ben Roethlisberger. On the flip side there were high expectations in Cleveland after the off-season acquisition of Odell Beckham Jr. The team has been struggling mightily and a win over a divisional rival could be just what they need to get back into the swing of things.

The Browns made good on their opening drive by scoring a touchdown on it. Baker Mayfield would run the ball right up the middle for a 1 yard touchdown giving the Browns an early 7-0 lead. The Steelers were poised to put points on the board but Chris Boswell would miss the 44 yard attempt. The teams would trade punts for the rest of the quarter meaning the score would remain 7-0 to end the 1st quarter. Cleveland would be the first to score in the 2nd quarter as well. Another score from the goal-line, only this time Mayfield would do it in the air. His target was Jarvis Landry who’d haul it in for the score making it 14-0 Cleveland. After a Morgan Burnett interception the Browns were in a position to extend the lead. However Austin Seibert would miss the 45 field goal attempt keeping the score at 14-0. That’s how things would remain at the half so in short, the Steelers had some work to do come half number 2.
The Steelers would get off to a good start in the 3rd as they’d score a touchdown. Mason Rudolph would find Jaylen Samuels for a 3 yard touchdown, cutting the Browns lead to 14-7. The Browns would then go on to miss another field goal, this one from 50 yards out. Pittsburgh would be plagued by turnovers in the 4th as they had a turnover on downs and an interception. The Browns would convert on the pick as Mayfield would get another passing touchdown. This one would be an 8 yard strike to Stephen Carlson putting the Browns up by a score of 21-7. The Steelers would try to push back but yet another interception would seal the deal as the Browns would go on to win 21-7.
The stats as a whole largely favour the Browns in this one so we’ll start with Baker Mayfield. He had a good game going 17/32 for 193 yards and 2 touchdowns. Mason Rudolph struggled immensely going 23/44 foe 221 yards, 1 touchdown and 4 interceptions. The Browns ground game was lead by Nick Chubb who had 92 yards on 27 carries. The Steelers didn’t manage much on the ground as Jaylen Samuels had just 5 carries for 26 yards. Leading the way in recieving yards was Odell Beckham Jr. who had 4 catches for 60 yards. Meanwhile James Washington had just 3 catches for 49 yards. The kickers had a very troubling day as they combined for a horrible 0/3 on the day. As for the defences the Browns forced and incredible 7 turnovers, whereas the Steelers forced 0.
